I was wondering if Frank Black had a history someplace, like birth date, etc. I'm writing a fan fic where Frank makes a cameo (and depending on what year he met and/or married Catherine, she will as well) and need info on what Frank would be up to and look like in 1976, how old would he be? I hope thi sis the correct place to put this. Thanks.

I've been meaning to post a question about his birthdate, too. I know he was supposed to be a Scorpio, which means he'd have a late October - November 22 birthday. Does anyone know his exact birthdate?

Also, I know they mentioned bits about his past.... There was "The Thin White Line", in which Frank was still a cop. Does anyone remember what year that was supposed to be?

They also did say in the first episode "We've been in Washington DC for the past 10 years." and that was 1996, so we know he was in DC at least in the mid 80's to mid 90's.

The best clues as to Frank's birth year come from the "flashback" episodes when he remembers his time as a child (Curse of Frank Black, Midnight of the Century). I think in Midnight... the year of the Christmas when his mother died is shown or mentioned at least once (but at my age I can't remember the exact reference). Anyway, I surmised his age for the current time setting of the series as him being in his mid-50s. Obviously from some of the dialog in early shows, Catherine was some years younger (maybe as much as 10 or 15) than Frank. I remember the "astrology" reference in Luminary but that gives you about a month of time as Erin says for the birthday to fall.

I don't have time right now to do it, but the best clues to his age might be to either watch the episodes mentioned or read through the scripts for the dialog and script notes for those episodes.

Any of you others that are more expert than I am and with a better memory want to weigh in on this?????

Frank's birthdate is 12 July 1947 (I prefer the 1947 date to the one in Midnight). That makes him being a Scorpio, as implied in Luminary, wrong. But maybe the reference to Scorpio is incorrect - the astrologer seems to get Catherine's sign wrong. Initially she says that Catherine's sign is Cancer but Catherine corrects her, saying she's Aquarius. The astrologer then says she's talking about Catherine's moon sign, not her sun sign. Perhaps the reference to Scorpio is to Frank's moon sign. I know nothing about astrology but, from some brief googling, I can't see that either of those moon signs make sense.

In that episode, Jordan supplies Catherine's birthdate as 6 February 1963, around 15 years younger than Frank.

By 1976, Frank would be around 29 years old and presumably in the FBI and single. Catherine was around 13 years old at that time.

So Frank's robbing the cradle?

LOL, let's hope they started dating a few years later. :oneeyedwinK Actually, if this is the case, and I have no reason to doubt the person providing the information, then the start of Millennium was 20 years later, in 1996. This would have made Frank 49 and Catherine 33. To me, not only does Catherine not look to be quite 16 years younger than Frank on the series, but she also looks a lot older than 33. In fact, she always looked to be closer to 43, at least as far as I'm concerned. Like I said, I believe the information provided, I just don't think Megan Gallahger looked like a 33 year old when the show started..... Just looked her up on IMDB, and Megan (the actress) was actually 36 when the show started. This is not too far off from the 33 years old she was on the show. Looking at the pictures, I guess I pictured her a little older, and I would say she looks like someone who is pushing 40, but not unbelievable as a 33 year old.

Am I believable as a 33 year old? :oneeyedwinK:tongue:

The original script describes Catherine as being "in her young 30s; pretty in a natural, unadorned way". I think some of the casual outfits she wore might have made her look older. To me at least, some of them made her look rather frumpy, but when she was dressed up with a bit more makeup she looked younger.

Actually, the average life span of a Wolf is 8 to 13 years, so the answer to you question is no, you are not believable as 33. I had you pegged for 4 or 5.

Yes, I have to say that, at worst, she looked like a 33 year old who looked a little older than 33. Does that make any sense? :eyes: I never really thought about her age, other than mid to late 30s (probably late), so it wasn't much of a stretch to make her 33. What I really get a kick out of is some of the teen flicks that have actors in their late 20s playing teen agers, and you just laugh hysterically and think "yeah, right, how many times did you flunk".
