In this spring, La La Land records will release a 4 CD boxed set of the X-Files music from the TV shows only. It will have all the shows that I have been nominated for plus probably pieces from episode, I'm sure some of your favorites will be included.

Musings of A Sci-Fi Fanatic

Hi folk,
I know how many of you have seen Lance Henriksen in Hard Target but it's one of his greater roles in my opinion and I happened to come across a blog today that has reviewed the film and it's a great read. This bit specifically is nice.

Quote

Another high point is Lance Henriksen who easily delivers one of the most sinister bad guy rolls within the cliched genre. Henriksen is perenially underrated, but he is so damn good in the part and in most parts he accepts. He's frightening. There's a reason he inevitably landed the role of Frank Black for the Chris Carter series Millennium. His career is a fascinating one. This is yet another footnote on his amazing resume of films.

Head on over here to read the entire entry and be sure to pop back and let us know what you thought of the film and our man's role in it.
Dear friends,

As you may know, a few of us have banded together with the aim of providing a little entertainment for members of this forum over the Easter weekend. I would like to bring one such project to your attention. On Saturday 3rd April at 20:00 GMT we would like to invite you to a Skype gathering of Millennium fans with a view to spending out time discussing all things "Owls" and "Roosters". If you have a microphone headset you can join your friends online to talk in real time about the show we all love and the episodes we have chosen to be the centre of our Easter theme.

If you would like to take part in this event all you have to do is forward to your email address to me (via PM if you like) and I can ensure that you are added to my list of Skype contacts and that will allow me to call you all on the above date and time so that we can get chatting.

Here's hoping you will take up this fantastic opportunity not only to chat to the folk behind the screen names but to enjoy a little Millennium focussed fun during the holidays.

This is who we are!

Honesty.

Hello there.

I thought that in the light of all the Seasons being out now on DVD and given that I've spotted some new names about the place plus the fact that the year is drawing to a close, we should have another crack at establishing 'who likes what?' Being able to view the DVDs has refreshed people's memories of seasons and given them a chance to watch episodes they only thought they remembered. So now, how about fessing up to what you really think of the episodes.

The rules:
1) Categorise each episode into Good, Average or Flawed. Remember that bad episodes with one or two good parts are still bad episodes and should probably be labelled average unless those sequences are absolutely 'must-see'.

2) Try to avoid bias from others and from yourself. If you know you like an episode but are ashamed to admit it, don't be afraid! It's not going to be the end of the world to stick up for an episode others condemn. Don't feel you have to justify yourself - just declare for your favs! Similaly, don't say an episode you hate is avergae just to avoid accusations of bad taste. Everyone should note that we are all entitled to our opinions.

So here is our chance to be brutally honest. Most votes for best episode (I.e the episode that appears most in people's great episode list) *must* be watched by everyone over Christmas at least once (to try and educate non-beilievers and reward appreciators! :D)

So:

SEASON ONE:
The Great:
Pilot, Gehenna, Dead Letters, Blood Reletives, Wide Open, Sacrament, Lamentation, Broken World, Maranatha, Paper Dove.

The Average:
The Judge, 522666, Kingdom Come, Force Mejeure, The Thin White Line, Covenant, Walkabout, Powers, Principalities...

The Flawed:
A Well Worn Lock, The Wild and the Innocent, Weeds, Loin like a Hunting Flame.

SEASON TWO:
The Great:
The Beginning and the End, Sense and Anti-sense, The Curse of Frank Black, Jose Chung's 'Doomsday Defence', The Mikado, The Fourth Horseman.

The Average:
Beware of the Dog, Goodbye Charlie, Luminary, The Pest House, Owls, In Arcadia Ego, A Room with No View.

The Flawed:
Monster, A Single Blade of Grass, 19:19, The Hand of Saint Sebastian, Midnight of the Century, Roosters, Siren, Anamesis, Somehow, Satan got Behind Me, The Time is Now.

SEASON THREE:
The Great:
The Innocents, TEOTWAWKI, Skull and Bones, Through a Glass Darkly, Human Essence, Collateral Damage, The Sound of Snow, Saturn Dreaming of Mercury, Bardo Thodol, Seven and One, Nostalgia, Via Dolorosa.

The Average:
Exegesis, Closure, Omerta, Borrowed Time, Matryoska, Forcing the End, Darwin's Eye, Goodbye to All That.

The Flawed:
...Thirteen Years Later, Antipas.

Well, there we are. Anyone else got the honesty?

Millenium Group Asassin

Exactly who is the Group execution squad leader (Innocents & Exegesis), shape-shifting, Frank Black baiting (Seven And One) Multilingual (Bardo Thodol)????? He appears without any real explanation. Is he Homer B. Petty groups D.I.Y. man? How can they (Namely Carter) reconcile him with the character of Peter Watts. Owl or Rooster or just all round dirty job guy? If Carter had wanted to pull back from Morgan & Wong's near genius curve ball that was season 2 then this character seems wholly out of place. Surely the group would have had a lot of use for him in the episodes Owls & Roosters. Furthermore as sombody who has no qualms about killinghe never seems to finish the job on Frank despite having ample opportunity (Skull And Bones & Bordo Thodol).
Any takers?

Vince Gilligan In Conversation

What: A Conversation with Vince Gilligan [Breaking Bad, The X-Files]
When: Saturday, 18 September 2010 - 2:00pm
Where: 90210 Roxbury Auditorium in Beverly Hills.
Cost: $50 + $2.50 processing fee [Friends of IBG receive a 10% discount]

Hi folks,
I had an opportunity to speak to the very lovely Patricia of IBG yesterday and she told me of their latest charitable venture which I felt sure you good folk would be interested in. Vince Gilligan has gone on to find incredible success of late for his work on Breaking Bad but I am sure many here will recall him from his time on The X-Files. He has very kindly given of his time to IBG in order to raise money for lung cancer sufferers and here's how you could find yourself with an opportunity to meet the man in question and help to raise some money for a most worthy cause in the process. Head on over here to find all the information you need with regards to securing for yourself a ticket.

These are intimate conversations between the people behind The X-Files and as such a rare opportunity that not even conventions provide for so if you are in the area do head on over.
