The mythology of Millennium focused heavily on the nature of evil, both human and supernatural. It was the supernatural element which caught the attention of many Millennium fans in particular and this became known amongst fans of the show as the Legion myth-arc.
This forum contains discussion on Millennium's 'Legion' mythology, Lucy Butler and other manifestations of Legion who were more instruments and messengers.
Millennium is one of the most powerful and unique drama series of all time. Season One contained 22 episodes exploring the darkest depths of the human soul and the most sickening portions of the human mind, whilst introducing us to terrifying killers such as Richard Alan Hance, The Polaroid Stalker and evil personified, Lucy Butler. It also introduced a story arc mythology that fans christened 'Legion', establishing instruments and manifestations of evil. Expert criminal profiler Frank Black sought sanctuary from the darkness of his work, in the warm glow of his 'yellow house' and his cherished family.

Executive Producer's Glen Morgan and James Wong introduced a world of demons, angels, deeper background mythology and tied in the conflict between science and religion. Darin Morgan occasionally delved into a twisted, black sense of humour. Kristen Cloke's outstanding portrayal of the confused and tormented Lara Means brought speculation as to the relationship between herself, Frank and Catherine Black.

For Season Three, Chris Carter returned to bring the series back to its original premise and roots and yet there where some grey issues. Whilst Frank and Jordan Black returned to Washington, D.C, Peter Watts and the Millennium Group became chilling, darker and evil - an unpopular change given that Carter based the group on the highly intelligent, dedicated professionals in the real-life Academy Group who had provided insight during season one. The show featured deeper conspiracies, more serial killers and an open-ended conclusion leaving some questions open for viewers to interpret, whilst leaving the door open for Frank to one day return.

Mark Snow's Millennium beautiful themes and soundtrack continue to inspire. Discuss his Millennium music compositions here together with all other aspects of this extremely talented and highly respected composer.
Millennium contains an inspired collection of recordings to reflect and accompany the show's dark themes including tracks from Cypress Hill, White Zombie, Bobby Darin, Patti Smith and many more. It's almost impossible not to appreciate the artistic effect when listening to The Carpenters sing "Close to you" during the vicious dog attack in Beware of the Dog or America's "Horse with no name" during Owls, not forgetting the effect of "Love Is Blue" in A room with no view. Discuss the music from Millennium in more depth here...
