A scene from DaVinci's Inquest.

UK based fans of Sarah-Jane Redmond (Millennium's Lucy Butler) will be pleased to know that they can finally view the Canadian award-winning television series Da Vinci's Inquest which stars Sarah-Jane as Sgt. Sheila Kurtz.

Season Two (when SJR joined the cast as a regular character) commences 22nd May 2005 at 9pm BST on the FTN Channel, available on Sky Digital Satellite, Freeview and other platforms. My thanks to Richard Ovenall, TIWWA's Wavecrest for the schedule information.

Da Vinci's Inquest recently received approval for syndication across the USA where fans of Sarah-Jane have eagerly been awaiting the opportunity to watch one of Canada's longest running television series. Sarah-Jane Redmond has confirmed that she is due to commence filming of Season 8 later this year.

FTN describe the show as follows:

Ftn viewers have gripping new drama to look forward to on Sunday nights, with Da Vinci's Inquest back for an exclusive second season. The show is nothing less than a national institution - in Canada, that is.

Over there this gritty, morally complex crime series is in its seventh season, pulling more viewers than any other drama. The show has won the prestigious Gemini Award for Best Drama Series five times - in addition to 45 other industry prizes. With season two on its way to Ftn, we reckon the show is set to go ballistic in the UK too.

Dominic Da Vinci (Nicholas Campbell) is a charismatic cop turned - coroner who has made it his mission to speak for Vancouver's dead. For Da Vinci, every corpse is a riddle that demands to be solved - but in the murky world of pathology, police work and politics, there are few simple answers. Hidden agendas, corruption and the mysteries of the human heart conspire to keep Da Vinci on his toes, and he will need all his humour, skill and intelligence to discover the truth.

Season two opens with Da Vinci making a typically controversial appeal for a legalised red-light district in Vancouver, following a string of prostitute killings. But as usual, he is up against a system much bigger than him, and shadowy forces are at work.

Don"t miss this masterpiece of crime drama, only on Ftn.
